How 88 Supermarket and Feeding it Forwards Are Transforming Lives Across BC

At 88 Supermarket, we believe no one should worry about where their next meal is coming from. That’s why we’re proud to partner with Feeding it Forwards, a non-profit dedicated to fighting hunger and reducing food waste across British Columbia.

Since February, 88 Supermarket has helped redirect thousands of pounds of nutritious surplus food to local charities, schools, and hospices. Led by passionate high school students, Feeding it Forwards has rescued over $125,000 worth of food from waste. This is enough to feed a Canadian family for eight years.

Across our three locations, 88 Supermarket has donated an abundance of produce, dried goods, and beverages, supporting organizations and those in need. Together, we’ve brought meaningful change to vulnerable groups like elderly residents at New Chelsea Society in East Vancouver and homeless youth supported by Directions Youth Services in Downtown Vancouver.
